Situated right in the heart of the Oklahoma city, the Oklahoma City National Memorial is one of the newest tourist attraction and though it has got a sad history, it is visited by large number of tourists. The Oklahoma City National Memorial is the largest of its kind not only in Oklahoma but in the whole country. The Oklahoma City National Memorial was established in the city on October 9, 1997 to honor those who were killed in the Oklahoma City Bombing on April 19, 1995. 168 people were killed and countless people were injured on that day. The memorial was established after the then US President Bill Clinton signed the Oklahoma City National Memorial Act of 1997.

You would find the historic Oklahoma City National Memorial at the site of Alfred P. Murrah Building which was completely destroyed in the bombing. Inside the compound of Oklahoma City National Memorial you would find the National Memorial Museum and the Institute for Prevention of terrorism. You may also visit the Journal record Building which is located in the Northern part of the memorial ground.



You would find two large gates at two ends of Oklahoma City National Memorial and between the two gates there is a 400-feet pool and 168 empty glasses and granite chairs. You may also visit the 24, 000 square feet Oklahoma City National Memorial Center that houses a museum.
