The Oklahoma City is the most populous and the capital city of the U.S. state of Oklahoma. This capital city is also the county seat of Oklahoma County. Oklahoma City was established during the Land Run of 1889, first of five land runs in what became Oklahoma. The Oklahoma city is the only U.S. State Capital which shares its name with the state. According to the estimation made by the 2006 census, it is the 30th largest city in the country. The approximate population as of 2006 was 540,000 and in the metropolitan area the population was 1,200,000.

This city once was recognized worldwide for Energy exploration and it has now diversified to include sectors such as biotechnology, Information Technology, Health Services, and Administration.
