The history of Oklahoma dates back even to the ice age. There are all the evidences in the museums of Oklahoma from where this can be deducted that people have lived here in this country from that early time. The native Americans had formed here the "Five Civilized Tribes" in this land. The main tribe among them was the Choctaw tribe. Agriculture was the main profession of the people in this tribe. But the history gradually changed its course and Oklahoma became one of the most powerful states in USA.

The white settlers carried out the Indian Removal Act in the 1830s and after that they successfully spread their area. The Land Runs was another event that helped the white settlers the most to settle over here.
